Introduction
You can download the submissions of a form as a CSV file, for example to analyse them in a spreadsheet or to hand them to someone who has no Staatic access. An export always covers one form.
This applies to submissions collected through Forms Integration.
Export from the Staatic dashboard
- Go to app.staatic.com and login with your account details.
- Click Forms > Form Submissions.
- Filter on exactly one form. Optionally narrow the list further with the Received from and Received until date filters.
- Select the rows you want, or click Select All Matching to export everything the filters show.
- Click Actions > Export CSV.
The download starts right away. The download link is valid for 5 minutes and works once; if it expires or you have used it, run the export again.
What is exported
| Aspect | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Form | Exactly one. Filter on a single form, or select rows that all belong to the same form. |
| Status | Only verified submissions, unless the Spam filter is on. |
| Dates | The Received from and Received until filters apply. |
| Size | At most 10,000 rows per export. If the list is larger, narrow it with the date filters and export in parts. |
Columns
| Column | Content |
|---|---|
| Submitted at | When the submission was received, in your timezone, with seconds. The timezone is named in the column header. |
| Status | The submission status. |
| Name, Email | Taken from the submission. |
| Company | Only when at least one exported submission has a company. |
| One column per form field | The values the visitor entered. A field whose value only repeats the Name, Email or Company column is left out. |
| Referrer URL | The page the visitor submitted the form from. |
| Submitted at (UTC, ISO 8601) | The exact time of the submission in UTC, for example 2026-10-20T07:15:42Z. |
Attachments are exported as file names only, separated by ;. The files themselves and their links are not included.
IP addresses and user agents are never included.
File format
The file is UTF-8 with a byte order mark, comma separated, so Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice show accented characters correctly without an import step.
A value that starts with =, +, - or @ gets an apostrophe in front of it. Spreadsheet programs would otherwise run such a value as a formula. If you need the original value, remove the leading apostrophe.
Export from WordPress
Note: The Export CSV button in WordPress is coming in Staatic Premium Edition 1.15.0.
- Go to the WordPress Admin and click Staatic > Forms.
- Hover over the name of the form and click Submissions.
- Click Export CSV.
The export covers the current view of the submissions table, so the file contains what you see with the current filter applied. The same rules and limits as above apply.
Export through the API
Developers can request the same file from the Staatic API with an access token that may manage forms, or a site token:
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $TOKEN" \
"https://api.staatic.com/v1/form-submissions?format=csv&form_id=$FORM_ID&status=verified" \
-o submissions.csv
| Parameter | Behavior |
|---|---|
format |
csv. Without it, the endpoint returns JSON as before. |
form_id |
Required for CSV. |
status |
verified (default) or spam. |
The same 10,000-row limit applies. A larger result is refused with status 413 before any data is sent, so narrow the request and try again. CSV requests are limited to 10 per 10 minutes per token; above that the API answers 429 with a Retry-After header.
